We are alive...

I vaguely remember this house. I can't recall the last time I was in it for a full week straight. Early February, I think. We took planes, trains and automobiles to arrive at Copper Mountain in Colorado for President's Day weekend. 3 hour drive to Ohio. Drop off kids. Sleep a little. 3.5 hour flight to Colorado. 2.5 hour drive into the mountains to Copper Mountain. Sleep a little more. Think we are suffocating because of the altitude. Many ski lift rides over 4 days. Get hit by the lift chair. Take a wrong turn and end up on a black diamond hill with moguls. A sleigh ride. Reverse process to return home. It was much more fun than it sounds. It was just exhausting 5 months pregnant.

We got home on Tuesday and returned to school and work, then got the call on Thursday that my grandfather had died in Ohio. We unpacked the suitcases just enough to get skiing stuff out and dressy black stuff in. Let the driving begin. Oh, and my darling husband decided he was tired of driving the minivan and he wanted to take his Infiniti G35 to Ohio. Sardines, much? But it was great to see the WHOLE family. And it was one of the most beautiful and tender funeral services I have ever attended. Grandpa was beaming with pride as the many speaking and singing talents of his children and and grandchildren were demonstrated.

So, how's that for a great excuse for not blogging? :) More lighthearted blogging to follow, I promise!
